What materials do we use to make our sneakers?Updated a month ago
Animal leather and conventional alternative materials made of 100% PU have a significant environmental impact (high CO2 emissions, use of chemicals, etc.).
Our bio-materials are alternatives to leather and fossil-based plastic. We upcycle bio-waste from other industries, mainly the agri-food sector, such as grapes, corn, pineapple, and mushrooms.
These raw materials are usually dried and transformed into powder, then mixed with a binder (bio-PU, PLA, recycled PVC, etc.). The resulting paste is then compressed onto a textile base to create a flexible and durable material.
This method allows us to produce bio-materials made on average of 66% fruits and plants. Our MushroomSkin, on the other hand, is made of 100% natural materials!
